Job Title: Project Lead — Supply Chain Technology (MG Ship) Location: Guangzhou Employment Type: Full-time Reporting To: Director Role Overview The IT Project Lead will be responsible for planning, executing, and delivering complex IT and product projects—covering platform enhancements, system integrations, cloud migrations, and infrastructure improvements—ensuring alignment with business goals. This role bridges engineering, product, operations, and external partners/vendors, ensuring projects are delivered on time, within budget, and scope while managing risks and stakeholder expectations. Key Responsibilities End-to-End Project Management: Lead the full lifecycle (initiation, planning, execution, monitoring, closure) of medium-to-large IT and product projects involving supply chain solutions, integrations (EDI/API), and infrastructure. Planning & Resource Management: Develop and maintain detailed project plans, schedules, resource allocations, budgets, and project documentation. Cross-Functional Coordination: Coordinate cross-functional teams, including software engineers, QA, DevOps, product managers, data engineers, security, and operations personnel. Stakeholder & Vendor Management: Act as the primary point of contact for third-party vendors, integration partners, and clients during implementation and go-live. Metrics & Reporting: Define and track project KPIs and success criteria; provide regular status reports and executive briefings. Risk & Issue Management: Identify, assess, and mitigate project risks and dependencies; escalate issues in a timely manner. Agile Governance: Facilitate Agile ceremonies (e.g., stand-ups, sprint planning, retrospectives) as needed, applying Agile, Scrum, Kanban, or hybrid methodologies flexibly. Quality Assurance & Rollout: Ensure delivery quality through acceptance criteria, User Acceptance Testing (UAT) coordination, and production cutover planning. Scope & Change Control: Manage change controls and scope management; evaluate the impact of change requests on timelines and budgets. Process Improvement: Drive continuous improvement in delivery processes, tools, and documentation. Compliance & Security: Ensure projects comply with security, regulatory, and data governance requirements (e.g., data privacy, SOC2/NIST standards). Post-Launch Transition: Support post-implementation reviews, lessons learned, and knowledge transfer to operations/support teams.
Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, Business, or related fields (or equivalent practical experience). 5+ years of experience in IT project/program management with a proven track record of delivering software, cloud, and integration projects; experience in supply chain, logistics, or transportation domains is preferred. Proven track record of managing projects with technical teams (API, EDI, TMS/WMS integrations, microservices, cloud platforms). Deep understanding of the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC), Agile methodologies, and DevOps practices. Proficiency in project management tools (Jira, Asana, MS Project, Smartsheet) and collaboration tools (Confluence, Slack, Teams). Solid financial acumen: budget forecasting, cost tracking, and vendor contract management. Strong communication skills—ability to present effectively to technical/non-technical stakeholders and executive leadership. Outstanding organizational, prioritization, and problem-solving skills; ability to manage multiple concurrent projects. Demonstrated capability in managing vendor relationships.
